 What is a the difference between a wall decal & a wall sticker?

A wall decal is just another term for a wall sticker, made from vinyl and self adhesive, our wall decals are a simple, easy, quick and highly effective way to transform any room without breaking the bank or breaking a sweat!


Are they easy to put up?

Yes! They are so quick and easy to put up and transform your room in minutes. Each of our wall decals has a difficulty rating (Easy, Moderate or Tricky). For more information on these click here. Do you do personalised wall decals?

Yes! Check out our personalisable decals here. If you want to change any of our designs to suit your home we would be happy to try an accommodate any requests please just ask.  


Is there anywhere to avoid sticking them in my home?

They are only designed to be stuck in internal walls. We would avoid sticking them anywhere likely to effect their stickiness over time, for example directly above a radiator, a cooker or a shower. In older properties, or poorly insulated properties where the outside walls of the home get extremely cold this make effect their stickiness.  


How to I prepare the wall

Make sure the wall is clean, smooth, and free of any grease (especially important in a kitchen). If newly painted we advise waiting 2 weeks for the paint to fully dry. For best results stick them to walls painted with matt emulsion, if you’ve got silk they will be OK, just rub them on really firmly and then smooth them on well after removing the transfer sheet.


Can I stick them on anything?

The vinyl we use is designed specifically just for interior walls and mirrors, they may stick to any clean smooth surface but we wouldn’t be able to make any promises!  

Are they movable / removable?

In theory, yes, in practise... not really. At Imagine Wall we like to
be realistic, and honest with our customers, not just tell them anything to get a sale!

Movable - once they've been stuck somewhere, they are going to be less sticky. We wouldn't advise moving them as we couldn't guarantee the results.

Removable - they need to be sticky enough that they actually do stay up. We use a high quality vinyl meaning they should last - because of this we can't promise they won't take a bit of paint off if you take them down. They won't structurally damage your walls or anything, and it might not leave any mark, but we can't promise you wouldn't need to touch up with a paint brush.


Are they safe for children and pets?

Yes. The adhesive is non toxic - although we still wouldn't advise eating them! If you have children under 3 place them above reach just to be safe.  If your furry friends have a habit of chewing everything in sight maybe do the same.


Are they Matt or gloss finish?

As standard all our wall decals are matt - these are in reality a nice smooth silk finish. However if you have a hankering for something really shiny ask.  k us and we'll see if we can help.


How do designs with multiple colours work?

As vinyl wall decals can only consist of block colour, many of our designs incorporate more than one vinyl colour. This will mean each colour will arrive on a separate sheet, typically the “background colour on one sheet to be applied to the wall first, and then “Accent colours to apply, in exactly the same way over the top. Of course all our multi colour wall decals are shipped with the regular instructions as well as design specific placement instructions so it’s still a doddle!
